An actuary specializing in Affordable Care Act (ACA) markets, Taylor Gehrke has a decade of experience in individual and small group pricing, risk adjustment, and healthcare reform modeling. He partners with health plans and policy stakeholders to translate regulatory change—such as 1332 Waivers and evolving federal and state guidance—into market‑ready pricing strategy, competitive product portfolios, and compliant filings.
Before joining Wakely Consulting Group, an HMA Company, Taylor managed a team that executed individual ACA strategy and pricing for a national insurer, leading pricing across multiple markets. He led entrant feasibility analyses, strengthened internal pricing models, drove cross‑functional alignment with finance, product, and network teams, and has built automated tools and filing workflows that compress cycle times from days to minutes.
Taylor also led pricing and market‑entry analyses for smaller insurers seeking to expand. His work spans premium rate development, portfolio design, network adequacy assessment, regulatory review, and competitive landscape reviews, consistently aligning pricing with actuarial soundness, consumer value, and growth goals. He has helped states stand up reinsurance programs through Section 1332 Waivers and modeled the impact of federal and state regulatory changes on premiums, enrollment, and risk mix.
Taylor has a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. He is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Chartered Enterprise Risk analyst, awarded by the Society of Actuaries, and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
