Michelle Anderson, FSA, MAAA is a seasoned actuary with deep experience in the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace, supporting states and regional and national insurers since Wakely Consulting Group’s inception in 2014.
Michelle’s expertise covers pricing, rate development and certification in over 20 states; financial forecasting; market entry strategy; and regulatory and policy analysis. She has extensive experience supporting commercial market growth through data-driven product and pricing strategies, including risk pool analysis, competitive benchmarking, and evaluation of emerging policy impacts. Michelle has also produced detailed provider contract analytics and developed reimbursement strategy, helping organizations identify opportunities to improve financial performance through benchmarking to market and Medicare reimbursement levels.
Michelle’s work has also included assisting states with Section 1332 waiver applications and market stabilization efforts for the ACA marketplace. In addition to ACA and commercial work, Michelle has supported the development and submission of Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug bids, as well as year-end actuarial opinions, across several bid cycles. Prior to working at Wakely, Michelle spent three years at a national professional services firm, working on retiree medical and pension retirement plan analysis.
