Jason Stading is a healthcare consulting actuary with over 20 years of experience. He specializes in Medicaid and Medicare financial analysis, focusing on rate development and strategic consulting for both state agencies and health plans.
With Wakely Consulting Group, an HMA Company, Jason serves as a senior consulting actuary, leading a range of consulting engagements focused on Medicaid and Medicare. He has supported multiple Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs) in assessing and responding to proposed state rate certifications and developed financial models to evaluate and simulate Medicaid directed payment programs across multiple states.
Jason is also experienced supporting Medicare Advantage organizations with annual bid development, including review of projected trends, validation of pricing assumptions, and development of completion and credibility adjustments. He has served as bid signer for select plan submissions, ensuring compliance with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements and alignment with financial targets. He also has collaborated with internal actuarial and finance teams to finalize deliverables and address CMS desk review inquiries.
Previously, Jason served as an actuarial analyst and an actuarial associate with another national consulting firm. He is highly proficient in general health actuarial functions, including trend reviews, reserve analyses, National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) reporting, and support for state insurance filings.
Jason earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from St. John’s University. He is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
