Wakely provides participating issuers with risk adjustment estimates for the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) individual and small group markets under the Wakely National Risk Adjustment Reporting (WNRAR) project. In this paper, we analyze the impact of risk adjustment model changes from 2020 through 2022. We relied on national data collected through WNRAR participant’s data scored with the final 2020, 2021, and 2022 HHS HCC risk adjustment models. The impact to risk scores and relative risk of issuers are summarized in this paper. This paper is an update to our previous May 2021 Model Impact paper to reflect the final 2022 HHS HCC model.
